Saturday, 5th and Sunday, 6th July, 2014 Banbury Hobby Horse Festival extends an open invitation to all hobby horses and related animals, plus companions, to have a great time at each year’s gathering.

The festival provides a rare opportunity to perform alongside groups of dancers with traditions stretching back centuries – and their hobby horses, of course.

They have around 40 animals each year. The atmosphere is extremely convivial, and the pace fairly relaxed. As well as general horsing about and processing spectacularly through the pleasant market town of Banbury, they have music and song sessions, talks and great food. There are also community events.

This year they will be celebrating their Thirteenth Hobby Horse Festival

Held at Blenheim Palace in 2014 between Friday 18th and Sunday 20th July, 2014

The Game Fair at Blenheim Palace

Friday, 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th April, 2014

The CLA Game Fair began life with an informal conversation between two game-rearing specialists more than half a century ago. Nigel Gray and Charles Coles, whilst working at the ICI Game Research Station, put their heads together and came up with a new kind of social event to bring together the shooting and landowning interests of the British countryside.

Today the CLA Game Fair has metamorphosised into an operation that those original founders would scarcely recognise. Yet the same fundamental driving forces still exist: the fellowship, the sense of community and the deep love of countryside activities that set a fire under the CLA Game Fair when it began in 1958.
