We have a new venue for our Song and Ale Weekend and for Folk Festival camping. This will be at Banbury Cricket Club which has excellent facilities and is closer to the centre of the town
The festival started in 2000 as a one day event but has grown into a full weekend attracting major artists and folk enthusiasts from all over the country whilst still maintaining its friendly, intimate atmosphere. Banbury, nestled on the eastern edge of the beautiful Cotswolds and close to the historic Civil War battle sites of Edgehill and Cropredy, is a great place to visit With its charming medieval shopping streets and alleyways, the newly pedestrianised town centre provides a fabulous place to shop and a great venue for the dance sides to perform.
Make sure you go to see the ‘Fine Lady on a White Horse’ statue as depicted in the famous nursery rhyme ‘Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross’ It is at the top of the High Street opposite the famous Cross.
